The organizing committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for presentation at the III Cross border congress on climate and coastal change that will be held on March 6 and 7.

Key dates

  • 2017/09/12: Opening for abstract submission
  • 2017/10/23: Abstract submission deadline
  • Notification of abstract acceptance/rejection by 23rd of november 2017
  • 2018/01/31: Early registration fee deadline

Publication of abstracts in the Marine Research Journal (RIM)

Accepted abstracts will be published (extended abstract) in the Marine Research Journal (RIM) published by AZTI Tecnalia's Marine Research Division.

Abstract submission guidelines

  • Abstract submission languages: Spanish, English, French and Basque
  • Length: the length of the abstract should not exceed 500 words
  • Presentation format: Authors can submit abstracts for oral communication or poster presentation
  • Abstracts must be work that has not been submitted for publication.
  • Authors: At least one of the authors or coauthors of the abstract must register in the Congress. A maximum of two abstract per registration is permitted.
  • The program will include poster sessions.
  • Scope: Atlantic Europe

    • Climate change challenges
      - Observation and trends in the atmosphere, in the ocean and in the coastline
      - Climate change detection and attribution : see level rise and global warming
      - Climate change scenarios on the coast and on the marine environment: from global to local

    • Extreme events and action
      - Extreme swell, coastal storms, meteorological tide, floods, epidemics, heat wafes, risk management
      - Impacts on beaches, ports, urban areas, ecosystems, ecosystem services, biodiversity and fisheries
      - Climate change vulnerability and adaptation

    • Blue economy and climate change mitigation
      - Decarbonization of the blue economy
      - Economic assessment
      - Climate change mitigation in coastal areas

    • Governance and management and decision-making tools
      - Integrated coastal area management and marine spatial planning
      - Ecosystem-based management and nature-based solutions
      - Early alert tools
      - Plans and action programs for climate in coastal areas
      - Citizen communication, perception and participation

Please download the form below and once completed save the form as UHINAK18 FORM SURNAME1 SURNAME2 NAME.doc and email it to uhinak@ficoba.org.

In the subject line must be written: UHINAK18 followed by the complete name of the author, as this example: “UHINAK186 SURNAME1 SURNAME2 NAME”.

Abstracts can only be submitted by email (uhinak@ficoba.org) before october 23, 2017.
